BREZINOVA, Michaela and PAVLU, Jindrich

Everything started on the 7th January, when we arrived at Sydney´s airport. It was really long, long flight (24 hours) full of expectations and thinking about near future: “What are we gonna do at first?” But when the plane landed, we fell out of nervousness. The only one thing what we knew surely, was that we wanted to go to bed and sleep…jet lag!
On the first afternoon we went to the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge and took lots of photos…from the left side, from the right side, behind us, next to us…because, you know, we are tourists :0) But please, be careful, because during your way, when you cross the streets, watch the right side!
First day at school was really exciting. The day started with a placement test from which we find out the level of our communication English skills. One of us was placed in Pre-Intermediate level and the other to Upper-Intermediate. Further, we received detailed information about the distribution of classes and timetable. In the afternoon we sat in a class where we met teachers and new classmates and ELC school started at full blast.
Each lesson is focused on a specific topic of social activities. Learning is fast because most classmates are at a similar level of communication, so do not be ashamed to speak English with mistakes. For anything you can ask your teacher. The main thing is to talk, talk, talk :0)
Finding new friends is easy here. You do not have to worry about being alone. The school organizes lots of trips and experiences you can share immediately with other students. For instance Wild Life Zoo, Sea Life Aquarium or Christmas Party. In addition, the students are held some barbecue party themselves on the popular Manly beach, where the ferry ride with stunning view on the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge and the coast. You can meet here many nice and fun people from around the world.
Certainly you will not regret when you spend the Christmas and the New Years Eve in Sydney, where you can see the most beautiful fireworks in the world, on which has been waiting impatiently 2.5 million people around. While waiting for the fireworks the atmosphere is electrifying.
Further, you can visit Melbourne with its Australian Open. There you will see the best tennis players from around the world. Eg. Roger Federer making your dream. :0)
With life in Australia we are still very happy and we hope that it will continue to go on. Many experiences we certainly still ahead.
Enjoy your time in Australia!!!
